Seeking experienced and energized fundraising professional to join our Resource Development Team. The Resource Development Team focuses on building long-term relationships to generate, grow and sustain the necessary financial resources to measurably improve the lives of people in our community. This position is responsible for the year-round development and implementation of relationship-based strategies in order to run the annual campaign for a select portfolio of companies along with the solicitation and maintenance of individual major gifts to achieve or exceed revenue goals. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years of professional experience in non-profit fundraising, sales or marketing and a bachelor’s degree in human services, marketing or related field. Candidate should also have proven skills in fundraising, relationship development, volunteer management and public speaking. Ability to demonstrate professionalism, be a part of a team and communicate the mission effectively is a must. 

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Manage assigned workplace campaign divisions, individual major gift solicitation, donor prospecting, and donor relationships
  • Provide support to resource development volunteers, including employee campaign coordinators for assigned workplace campaign divisions
  • Assist Vice President of Resource Development in the planning and implementation of Annual Meeting and Campaign special events
  • Work with all United Way of the GCR staff departments to fulfill the mission of the organization
  • Other duties as assigned by President & CEO
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree in human services, marketing, or related fields preferred.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Two years’ professional experience in non-profit fundraising, sales, and/or marketing preferred.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with public speaking experience.
  • Proven knowledge and skills in fundraising, relationship development and volunteer management.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively.
  • Computer literacy in word processing, spreadsheets, and donor management systems.
  • Ability to represent United Way of the Greater Capital Region in a professional manner.
