Working with the Academic Administration Manager, the Transfer Credit Manager will support the review of transfer credit process flow, quality assurance of such requests, student files management,administration of supporting systems, and any regulatory compliance requirements. Additionally, this Transfer Credit Manager position supports the continuous improvement of the services provided to students through providing insight and analysis into technology and automation. As a member of the Student Support Services team, itis the overarching responsibility to ensure that the highest level of student and academic partner support is delivered.
Areas of Responsibility:
General Responsibilities
- The primary point person for set up, maintenance and support of Transfer Credit Services relating to Student Support and Program Services
- Coordinate the timely processing of transfer credit requests.
- Develop, manage and maintain processes and procedures, including communication to other stakeholders.
- Determine the direction of transfer credit opportunities including auditing and reporting to increase student retention, student satisfaction and academic partner satisfaction.
- Assist in determining the strategy to improve transfer credit evaluation services and assist with other technical enhancements for the department.
- Work with opportunities for automated reporting to provide greater insight into performance management and student retention intervention strategies.
- Act as the main point of contact for degree planning and transfer credit evaluations at Pearson.
- Provide training to Date Entry team members, Student Record Evaluators, and Senior Student Records Evaluators on program specific policies and procedures relating to transfer credit, degree planning, and tool(s) usage.
- Provide weekly updates that include challenges and opportunities, and status/productivity reports on previous, current and future activity.
- Ensuring adherence to internal and external academic policy.
- Participate in Recruitment Services, Student Support Services, and academic partner meetings on an as needed basis.
- Must be able to work well with many constituencies: students, faculty, program managers, and program offices from the Deans to program support staff.
- Requires the ability to work a flexible schedule to meet departmental needs. This may include working more than 40 hours a week.
Educational Background:
4-year degree from an accredited institution
Master’s Degree preferred
Skills/Experience:
- Minimum of three (3)years of experience in a student services role for an accredited university or college.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a registrar’s, administration, or transfer credit office is required.
- Experience in assessing curriculum or evaluating transfer credit is highly preferred.
- Excellent analytic and researching skills, organization, planning and communication(written and oral) skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects to meet expectations.
- Ability to transfer knowledge and skills through training.
- Demonstrated ability to take the lead to accomplish goals.
- Highly proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel and Word) and navigating on the internet.
