The Senior Director, Community Impact will be responsible for leading our relationship building and partnership development in the Silicon Valley to expand and deepen programs. In addition, the Senior Director will support and provide leadership to the UWBA team located in our San Jose office. This position is located in our San Jose office.
Areas of Responsibility:
Ensure the Community Impact Team (CIT) is meeting impact goals through the following:
- Participate in programmatic/impact and organizational strategic planning
- Participate in CIT manager and department meetings
- Lead the regional expansion of our youth workforce programming in collaboration with the Equity Team (internal staff)
- Participate in Silicon Valley collaboratives as the UWBA programmatic representative
- Further develop our Integrated Services Delivery grantmaking and model expansion in Santa Clara County; explore opportunities for beyond Silicon Valley as needed
- Lead the expansion of our two-generation approach in the Silicon Valley in collaboration with the Equity Team (internal staff)
- Cultivate relationships with local elected officials and government agencies to identify ways to work together on UWBA programs and initiatives
- Generally, advocate and champion United Way’s work in the Silicon Valley and the 8-county region
Support and Lead San Jose Office Staff
- Be the organizational leader/presence in our United Way San Jose office
- Act as a liaison between San Jose office staff and organizational leadership to better connect the staff in both offices
- Create a supportive and effective team culture
Corporate Partnership Development
- Support the Silicon Valley Impact and Growth Council
- Support Development staff in building relationships with our corporate partners
- Write and develop fundraising proposals and reports to corporate partners
Skills/Experience:
- Proven ability to manage projects
- Content knowledge of issues facing working families and people living in poverty here in the Bay Area
- Excellent attention to detail in all tasks
- Ability to work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines
- Ability to fulfill responsibilities with minimal supervision and work successfully on a team
- Experience working with diverse populations; knowledge of guidelines to successfully work in a culturally sensitive environment
- Experience with community building and working in collaborative partnerships with other organizations, agencies, institutions, and entities
- Experience working with corporations to achieve community impact
- Demonstrated supervisory, leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task
- Demonstrated ability to support/lead collaborative projects - both with internal staff and community based coalitions
- Grant writing and fund development experience for public or nonprofit agencies
- Excellent proficiency in operating computers and various Windows-based software applications (MS Word, Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Salesforce Proficiency highly desirable
- Six or more years of related professional work experience in a non-profit or human service

Compensation/Benefits:
Salary: $80,000.00 - 90,000.00 Salary Exempt
