The Graphic Designer will report to the Creative Services Manager and will assist with the development and design of core UWMS graphics, logos, collateral, event materials and a variety of other creative tasks as assigned. We are looking for a motivated team player with confident communication skills. This part-time position is responsible for the accurate production and distribution of a wide range of digital and printed collateral.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Must be able to develop conceptual creative work, and handle all aspects of production including final file preparation.
- Work with department managers to establish needs, expectations and deadlines.
- Work with Communications and Engagement team to manage standards across all digital platforms, including website, email and mobile communications, and social media.
- Participate in, and be part of, marketing plans and decisions for United Way by sharing knowledge and experience of marketing, advertising and design.
- Prepare images to coincide with branding guidelines and social expectations.
- Assist with collateral updates and version control.
- Assist with photography and video production (shooting, editing, etc.).
Educational Background:
Bachelor’s degree (B.A.); Preferred concentration: Graphic Design, Marketing, Communications or actively studying in the marketing/graphic design field with student/entry-level portfolio and coursework

- Excellent interpersonal skills and demeanor; team player with stellar verbal, written, and listening communication skills

- Mastery with composition techniques in producing polished final pieces
- Effective organization and time-management skills with the ability to work in high-pressure situations
- Ability to work independently and complete assigned tasks within identified timeframes while managing multiple projects, as well as collaboratively working with leaders of other areas to achieve common goals
- Ability to think creatively and provide marketable solutions in concept, development, and production of communication materials
REQUIREMENTS:
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Excellent spelling, grammar and proofreading skills
- Photo/video editing skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, Adobe Creative Suite and video editing software.

- Knowledge of email and social media creative and implementation techniques
- Ability to solve visual communications problems using design expertise and critical-thinking skills
- Comfortable with both MAC and PC environments; HTML and digital creative a plus but not required
- Print production skills. Ability to produce some promotional materials in-house, including cutting, measuring and mounting productions.
