The Vice President, Community Investment directs, coordinates and supervises volunteer-driven community initiatives, processes and activities and integrates them with the mission of the organization in consultation with the Community Investment division. The Vice President, Community Investment manages cross-functional activities with other divisions to maximize our efforts.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Accountable for coordination and integration of United Way’s planning processes and other program development efforts as may be required by SVP, Community Investment and set out in annual work plan
- Provide primary staffing and develop innovative strategies for implementing and measuring use of United Way funds in the community around a target issue
- In coordination with SVP, Community Investment, develop and execute any relevant Community Initiatives in support of the strategic plan for the Community Investment Division
- Provide exceptional customer service to both internal and external stakeholders
- Work in close concert with Development staff and ensure all program initiatives are coordinated in advance
Educational Background:
Master degree in Social Work, Urban Planning, Public Administration or related discipline preferred
Skills/Experience:

- Must be eligible to work in the United States (No Sponsorship)
- 5+ years of experience with progressive responsibilities in a community organization/mobilization and capacity building, interagency, and intergovernmental relations
- Strong computer skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook) and analytical software
- Effective communications skills (written and verbal)
- Must have strong interpersonal skills, maturity and good judgment and be capable of communicating with a diverse range of individuals
- Demonstrated ability to work with diverse community segments, volunteers, groups, individuals, and professionals
- Strong organizational and follow-through skills and energy for working with diverse, concurrent planning activities as evidenced by letters of reference from former supervisors and volunteer leaders

- Excellent leadership, team building, interpersonal and time management skills
- A high energy, results-oriented leader and must be a self-starter with little supervision required
- An individual with the utmost professional and personal integrity

Work Hours:
- Monday-Friday 8-5PM (flexible hours)
- May require some evenings, weekends for special events
