The Volunteer Engagement Coordinator develops, manages, and implements high-quality, impactful volunteer projects that engage thousands of volunteers. This includes managing three large and numerous small volunteer events; working with community partners to plan projects; overseeing the collaboration and communication with the resource development team to engage donors in volunteerism; and performing other duties as assigned.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Plan and execute Year of Action volunteer opportunities for Dr. Seuss Day (March), Day of Caring (September), and Season of Service (November-December)
- Work with UWSL community schools and other partners to plan volunteer projects
- Collaborate and communicate regularly with the resource development team to engage corporate partners and donor network members in volunteer projects
- Ensure effective data tracking of volunteer projects
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Educational Background:
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field
Skills/Experience:
- Demonstrated experience in project management
- Demonstrated experience in utilizing volunteer management best practices
- Ability to utilize principles of adaptive leadership and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Demonstrated experience in consistently achieving results, even under tough circumstances
- Ability to identify barriers and develop strategies to overcome them
- Ability to make sense of complex information to effectively solve problems
- Willingness to take on new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense of urgency, high energy, and enthusiasm
- Ability to adapt approach and demeanor in real time to match the shifting demands of different situations
- Ability to paint a compelling picture of the vision and strategy that motivates others to action
- Ability to relate openly and comfortably with diverse groups of people
QUALIFICATIONS
- Two or more years volunteer or event management experience
- Proficient in utilizing cloud-based systems
- Experience with CRM databases a plus
- Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence
- Clear, concise, and professional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work occasional weekends, evenings, and/or early morning work hours
- Reliable transportation
- Candidates must be able to pass UWSL background check and drug screening to hold this position
Compensation/Benefits:
Salary: $41,000 to $50,000 per year
