The Coordinator of Community Engagement & Fundraising will play a vital role in supporting the implementation of the Save the Children endurance event strategy and fundraising initiatives. The Fundraising Coordinator will support the Manager of Community Engagement & Fundraising in all fundraising, marketing, communications and operations that will aggressively help grow the program. In addition, the Coordinator will play an essential role in supporting all recruitment, cultivation and stewardships of athletes and interested fundraisers.
Communications and Operations (40%):
- Support Endurance Team by communicating to team participants and managing inbound inquiries.
- Responsible for corresponding vendor invoices for payment.
- Maintain inventory of all race swag and fulfillment.
- Support initiatives including fundraising, marketing, volunteer coordination, logistics planning & analysis and support.
Marketing, Recruitment and Cultivation (40%):
- Work with Manager, Community Engagement & Fundraising to execute outbound marketing efforts including email, print, and digital.
- Assist in participant recruitment and cultivation strategies by developing/maintaining relationships with endurance clubs/groups to engage potential partnerships.
- Coordinate all social media/PR initiatives on Team Save the Children Facebook page and all future social platforms.
Support Endurance Manager in Runner Engagement Strategy (10%):
- Coordinate speaking engagements, fundraising clinics, and any alumni/ambassador program affairs.
- Assist in managing campaign e-mailbox for responses to race availability and technological inquiries.
- Stays informed of evolving best practices and peers in the endurance industry.
Overall Team Support (10%):
- Be available on event days to ensure visible Save the Children representation while providing event support.
- Live stream from events and maintain creative/photo assets for social posts and marketing efforts.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
- Intermediate knowledge in Online Fundraising Platforms & Management Systems
- 2-3 years marketing, sales, development and/or public relations experience
- Excellent time management skills
- Ability to multi-task
- Must be adaptable and a consensus builder
- Requires knowledge of fund raising and public relations
- Possess very strong communication, organizational, interpersonal skills, public speaking skills, face to face interaction with event volunteers/sponsors
- Has complete understanding of office procedures, operations and all fundraising activities
- Understands difficult verbal or written instructions
- Understand data processing applications
- Knowledge of online communication and fundraising techniques and in-depth understanding of online event management systems.
- Must be able to travel in and out of the region for events, and strategic partnerships
