This is a full-time, salaried, non-exempt position. Primary duties include working with existing business partners to maximize revenue through annual workplace campaigns, most of which happen in the fall.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Manage the annual United Way workplace campaigns and associated business relationships across 100 different organizational partners, including:
- Work with the volunteer campaign leadership on recruitment and training for volunteers supporting the workplace campaign.
- Maintain communications and marketing tools needed to sustain campaign activities.
- Maintain Business Partner information in Donation Tracker, including the current CEO, Employee Campaign Coordinator and any other pertinent business information for each workplace campaign site.
- Coordinate communication around corporate giving with organizations doing workplace campaigns.
- Manage United Way electronic communication with donors.
- Staff largest workplace campaigns for City of Lawrence, Douglas County Government, Hallmark, Lawrence Memorial Hospital, Lawrence Public Schools and the University of Kansas.
- Coordinate with the Community Impact Director to schedule partner agency presentations at the worksite campaign kickoffs.
- Staff workplace campaigns when volunteers are not available.
- Coordinate and manage the Caring Club, and other volunteer driven special events designed to raise dollars and awareness for United Way.
- Stay updated with United Way partner and program success.
- Other duties as assigned.
Educational Background:
Bachelor's Degree
Skills/Experience:
- Must be willing to ask people for monetary donations to achieve United Way annual fundraising goals.
- Must be able to engage potential donors at workplace campaign kickoffs.
- Must be comfortable with public speaking and donor cultivation.
- Ability to build strong relationships with workplace Employee Campaign Coordinators.
- Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
- Ability to manage telephone and in person communication with strong customer service skills.
- Professional demeanor, ability to work independently, with sound judgment and discretion in managing confidential donor and campaign information.
- Must possess strong presentation skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products and ability to learn other applications including donor management and design software.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Must have fundraising experience including annual fundraising campaigns, fundraising events, donor relations/cultivation and the ability to secure major gifts.
- Two years of fundraising experience preferred.

Compensation/Benefits:
Salary: $41,000 to $50,000 per year
