Areas of Responsibility:
- Lead and strategically grow a highly regarded institution. The President & CEO can make his/her own mark and have a major impact.
- Manage key internal and external relationships, including interacting with and/or managing the following: all UWRI departments, Board of Directors, Community Advisory Board, agency directors, CEO’s, major donors, RI Grant makers Council, and elected and appointed government officials.
- Responsible for UWRI’s mission and will oversee the entire operation of UWRI within the guidelines of the annual budget as adopted by the Board of Directors.
- Play a key role in resource generation for the Organization while serving as the lead fund raiser for UWRI.
- Champion innovative approaches towards solving community issues.
Educational Background:
Master’s Degree and 7-10 plus years of relevant experience.
Skills/Experience:
- Strong relationship building and significant fundraising experience with a proven record of cultivating and soliciting gifts and grants.
- Demonstrated leadership and management skills, including the ability to attract, motivate, and develop leadership volunteers and staff along with visionary and strategic thinking capabilities.
- Experience in public policy and/or advocacy.
- Demonstrated skills in communication, consensus building, conflict resolution, problem-solving and coalition development.
- Broad understanding of human service systems, both public and voluntary.
- Evidence of success in building strong coalitions and working effectively with a wide range of people from diverse backgrounds.
- An understanding of individual community interest and regional issues and experience dealing with the concerns of multiple constituents.
- Superior presentation, communication, interpersonal skills and unquestionable integrity, with skill to build consensus.
- Passion to make a positive difference in the lives of people and strength to be a decisive, compassionate, and humble leader who is willing to take strategic risks when appropriate.
- Fluency in and/or exposure to technology, social media, and/or digital marketing would be highly valued.
