Our Los Angeles Division currently has an excellent job opportunity for an experienced sales manager to oversee a sales/fundraising team of 5 staff responsible for implementing the Los Angeles “Healthy for Good” campaign that combines actively supporting healthy living while raising significant funds for the mission of the American Heart Association.

In this position you manage, coach and develop a high performing staff team, develop and grow top sales accounts, as well as recruit and steward C-level volunteers.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Manages and coaches a high performing staff team responsible for the LA “Healthy for Good” campaign to achieve both program goals and net revenue of $2.4M net
  • Recruits, trains and manages C-level volunteer leadership
  • Leads and actively participates in the cultivation and growth of top corporate accounts and new business opportunities
  • Develops and oversees year-round pipelines and cultivation plans for sustained volunteer leadership and corporate account management.
  • Direct oversight of the overall Heart Walk operations in accordance with expense and event guidelines.
  • Oversees additional event/activities as assigned
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and training
Skills/Experience: 
  • 5+ years successful experience in fundraising/development or related sales
  • Proven experience in managing high performing staff teams to achieve revenue goals
  • Demonstrated ability to accomplish results through highly effective relationship-building skills and a proven track record in achieving aggressive sales/fundraising goals
  • Highly effective organizational, communication, negotiations and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail oriented and ability to multi-task
  • Ability and willingness to travel and to work evenings and weekends as needed (10-15 face to face meeting weekly)

Here are some of the preferred skills we are looking for:

  • Experience with the American Heart Association or similar nonprofit fundraising experience
  • Demonstrated success in identifying, recruiting and managing C-level volunteers
  • Identifying and closing high level cash sponsorship
  • Knowledge of AHA’s mission and programs
