The American Heart Association (AHA) has an excellent job opportunity for a Development (Sales) Director, Heart Walk in the Kern County (Bakersfield)Division. The Director, in collaboration with staff and volunteers, is responsible for the overall planning, management and implementation of the Heart Walk campaign with a fiscal year net revenue goal of $360,000 .This is a home office based position.
Areas of Responsibility:
- With a focus on business to business (B2B) relationships , manages and grows current corporate accounts and new business development.
- Develops strategic plans with each company to achieve established fundraising and company participation goals.
- Secures cash sponsorship
- Manages assigned community teams
- Oversees event execution
- Adheres to established Best Practices, benchmarks and timelines and conducts active community networking and outreach through 10+ face to face meetings on weekly basis with current and prospective donors, volunteers and sponsors
Skills/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 2+ years successful experience in fundraising, outside sales or marketing
- Ability to accomplish results through strong volunteer recruitment, training, and management
- Highly effective organizational, communication, negotiations and interpersonal skills. Detail oriented and ability to multi-task
- Self-starter able to work well in a team driven environment
- Knowledge of AHA’s mission and programs
- Ability to delegate and accomplish goals through volunteers.
- Ability and willingness to travel and to work evenings and weekends as needed
Here are some of the preferred skills we are looking for:
- Experience with the American Heart Association or similar nonprofit organization
- Experience in securing cash sponsorship
- Comfortable with business to business sales, including cold calling
