Mission: 

Spark the Journey (Spark) mentors low-income high school and college students in the academic middle from the Washington, D.C. area to provide the skills and experiences they need to successfully complete college and to excel in the workforce.

The core of Spark’s program model relies on recruiting, training, and supporting college-educated, volunteer mentors. The relationship between Spark employees and the volunteers are the heart of the mission and the key to success at Spark.
