Mission: 

The Southwest Missouri Council of Governments (SMCOG) is a 10-county Regional Planning Commission housed with Missouri State University. SMCOG aims to improve the quality of our communities through regional cooperation.

Programs: 

SMCOG helps oversee the growth and development of a 10-county region. We do this by providing staff expertise in local and regional planning such as transportation planning, economic development, hazard mitigation, comprehensive planning, land use and zoning regulations, and grant writing and administration.
