As an independent, private nonprofit health foundation, we pursue broader access to health care and work to improve health in Maine, guided by voices and experiences of communities across the state. In addition to funding, we share information, encourage dialogue, and foster collaboration with and among grantees, partners, and other funders locally and nationally.

We focus on the pressing health care challenges and opportunities facing Maine today: growing inequities, access to health care and insurance, opioid and substance misuse, quality care for our older and more diverse populations, a health workforce shortage, and pressures on rural health systems.
