Managing Director

We are looking for a qualified person who has some passenger transportation experience and has been successful in managing people in a business or passenger transportation carrier operation, i.e., public sector, private sector or military. The Managing Director is responsible for managing up to ten staff members who are responsible for all aspects of internal activities, headquarters office, and field operations of PTSI. This position will also oversee the external activities of the organization regarding all contracts and communications with consultants, local, state, and federal agencies as appropriate.

Managing PTSI’s business plan will require you to have more flexibility than the Managing Director of a large operation. When an employee calls in sick, you might have to cover for them. At times, you will need to directly manage projects that would normally be managed by entire departments, like marketing campaigns. And through all of this, you must remain organized, innovative and customer centric.

Areas of Responsibility: 

The position will oversee, but is not limited to the following:
•Managing employees and recommend employee hiring, and termination to the Board of Directors
•Managing business strategy with Board of Directors approval
•Securing funding and assets
•Managing the PTSI annual budget
•Outsourcing and direct marketing projects
•Purchasing inventory and resources
•Networking for additional opportunities and innovations
•Assisting with customer service

Educational Background: 
Preferred, but not required
• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in any of the following: 1. Business Management or
2. Related fields • Course work in accounting practices • Course work in business law • Course work in passenger transportation management/operations
Skills/Experience: 

• Must be able to become bonded (if applicable)


Experience/Knowledge: (Preferred, but not required)
• Five or more years’ experience in a leadership and/or management role in the public or private sector.
• Experience in writing Proposals and Request for Proposals (RFP).
• Experience in successfully managing office and field staff.
• Experience in passenger transportation operations.
• Knowledge in developing budgets, financial planning, and strategy.

Compensation/Benefits: 

Type: Full Time (Exempt)
Salary: Starting Annual Salary Range $110,000.00 to $120,000.00
Benefits: As per PTSI policy, e.g., Health Plan, Sick Leave, Paid Vacation Days
