The new Executive Director will have the opportunity to lead an already successful foundation to make an even greater impact in the industry and, most importantly, on the lives of patients with breast cancer.  The organization has evolved from being a volunteer-run operation, supported by a handful of donors, to an organization with national reach, professional staff, and a Board with solid institutional knowledge, and a wellspring of fresh ideas and energy from its newer members.

Areas of Responsibility:

The Lynn Sage Breast Cancer Foundation is one of the nation’s leading breast cancer research and education organizations. Since 1985, the organization has raised almost $45 million for breast cancer research and the education for the future of breast cancer researchers and doctors. The organization’s financial health and fundraising success has created a strong foundation for further growth.

In 1985, to honor Lynn Sage’s struggle with breast cancer and to also applaud her strength, a small group of Lynn’s family and friends established a foundation to fund breast cancer research, with a vow to cure this devastating disease. Today, the Lynn Sage Breast Cancer Foundation continues to preserve and honor Lynn’s memory by supporting clinical trials and improving access for patients, investing in exceptional professional, educational programs, and funding revolutionary research that brings us closer to a cure for breast cancer.

The Lynn Sage Breast Cancer Foundation is at an extraordinary inflection point. The Board of Directors recognizes this as an opportunity to take steps to achieve a new level of impact in the healthcare field and the world of research and education. The Board has been engaged in planning a vision for the future and is in year two of a three-year strategic plan.  The Board has an ambitious goal to increase annual funding from its current level of $2.2 million to $5 million over the next few years.
