The YMCA of Gloucester County is seeking an individual who is excited at the prospect of leading and developing our Aquatic Department.

The Aquatics Manager is responsible for the development, implementation, administration, growth and evaluation of our aquatic programs. The Manager will ensure that the day-to-day operations run smoothly and effectively to provide our members and program participants an exceptional experience.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Directs and manages the development, operations and growth of the Aquatics Department to meet the needs of our community.
  • Monitors daily pool operations to adhere to all state, local and YMCA health and safety regulations. Conducts and ensures proper maintenance of our pool and keeps accurate records of pool chemical levels and facility maintenance.
  • Recruits and hires staff and volunteers. Onboards and trains them for success. Conducts lifeguarding, swim lesson instruction and FA/CPR trainings along with staff in-service tranings. Ensures staff certifications are current and complete.
  • Manages the department by developing and monitoring the budget to meet financial objectives; monitors and evaluates the effectiveness and participation in programs, securing and scheduling the pool facility and creating and scheduling the aquatic programs (ex: lessons, parties, water fitness)
  • Develops and maintains collaborative relationships within community organizations. Maintains regular, clear and concise communication within area of responsibility.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of related experience preferred (ex: Aquatic Manager, Coordinator or Supervisor)
  • Current YMCA or American Redcross Lifeguard Certification
  • Current YMCA or American Redcross Lifeguarding Instructor Certification or required to obtain in the first 90 days of hire
  • Current Certified Pool Operator (CPO) Certification preferred or required to obtain in the first 90 days of hire
  • Current YMCA Swim Lesson Instructor Certification or obtain in the first 6 months of hire
  • Ability to respond to all safety and emergency situations
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $30,000.00 - $35,000.00
