Based at the Armed Services YMCA of the USA (ASYMCA) headquarters in Woodbridge, VA the Digital Content Coordinator (DCC) will carry out ASYMCA’s digital communications activities. The DCC is primarily responsible for increasing engagement through social media and identifying, creating and curating content for the website, blog, and organizational story banks. The DCC creates and contributes content to the bi-monthly e-newsletter and increasing ASYMCA’s visibility and engagement with audiences important to our mission. This position requires extensive interaction with all levels of ASYMCA staff and constituents.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • With the guidance of the Chief Marketing Officer, create and execute an organization wide strategy for digital marketing, content promotion and targeted messaging. 
  • Develop and maintain a consistent interactive voice. 
  • Regularly review and maintain an enterprise solution web style guide of communication. 
  • Prepare content to facilitate ease of access and conveyance to a broad or targeted audience.
  • Set analytics benchmarks and goals.
  • Compile and distribute reports on web/email analytics and social media participation.
  • Utilize evaluation of analytics to make appropriate recommendations.
  • On an on-going basis, assess quality of content to ensure accuracy of information.
  • Organize and manage content between teams and distribution platforms.
  • Stay up-to-date with latest trends and best practices.
  • Assist with the overall development of projects and digital activities strategy including the management and delivery of content via the program’s webpages, newsletters, social media (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube).
  • Ability to convert analytical insights into concepts and recommendations.
  • Work closely with the organization leadership and partners to document stories and successes in project activities in a compelling manner across multiple digital outlets.
  • Verify that all content is approved through proper channels and systems to ensure messaging is consistent with donor messaging.
  • Develop digital content from on-going program activities.
  • Customize content for different audiences.
  • Ensure consistent delivery of content messages.
  • Participate in department, project and team meetings.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s Degree in Communication, Marketing, Journalism, or relevant field of study and at least four years’ experience or equivalent combination of training and relevant experience. 
Skills/Experience: 
  • Experience working with HUBSPOT Web site content management system. Complete understanding of Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. 
  • Experience working with Adobe Creative Suite with emphasis on Photoshop and InDesign. 
  • Experience with Google Analytics, Facebook Insights, Twitter Analytics and other social media SEO and data measuring platforms. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including ability to compose narratives write and edit compelling stories, blogs, training handouts, position papers, and complex business correspondence.
  • Demonstrated professional experience in developing and implementing social media strategies that advance organizational communication strategies, program visibility and engage new audiences.
  • In-depth knowledge of online video, social media, and supporting technologies.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Positive, can-do attitude and a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to contribute to and maintain a professional work environment by demonstrating integrity, promoting teamwork, and fostering positive communication.
  • Possess superb time management skills and the ability to multi-task and prioritize complex assignments with little supervision.
  • Ability to work independently as well as proactively seek out information from diverse groups and collaborate to create new and engaging content.
