The YMCA of Northwest North Carolina is looking for an outstanding, mission-driven leader to be the next Executive Director of our Youth Development branch. The Youth Development Executive Director directly oversees Youth Development programs in Forsyth County and has dotted-line responsibility for Youth Development programs in Wilkes, Davie, Stokes, Iredell, and Alexander counties.

Areas of Responsibility: 

We are looking for a hands-on leader who will ensure a high level of program quality; recruit, supervise, and motivate a strong staff team; maintain strong relationships with principals, school administrators, and other community partners; and be responsive to the needs of program participants and parents. In addition, the ideal candidate will create and manage the annual Youth Development budget ($3M revenue budget), lead by influence the Youth Development teams in outlying counties to ensure program consistency across the Association, implement engagement strategies to ensure strong relationships with participants and their families, and ensure implementation of standards and curriculum that help students achieve academic success (ex. reading at grade level and preparing for college) and support the Y mission, goals, and strategies. 

Educational Background: 
Bachelor's degree and six or more years of school-aged child care management experience, preferably in a YMCA or other nonprofit agency, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Ability to direct total operations through volunteer development, supervision of staff, development and monitoring of branch budget, public relations and program development.
  • Experience in management and development of volunteer involvement; ability to recruit top community leaders.
  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
  • Proven track record of developing authentic relationships with others.
  • Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with schools and community organizations.
  • YMCA Multi-Team or Branch Leader certification preferred.
  • CPR and First Aid certifications may be required.
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $65,000.00 - $72,000.00
