Looking for a person with hands-on experience in preventive maintenance, project management, and cleanliness of building and property.

Northwestern CT YMCA has an opening for a hands-on person responsible for preventive maintenance, project management for repairs, and cleanliness of our Winsted, CT building and property.

This position is full-time with benefits including life insurance, disability insurance, shared cost medical/dental insurance and retirement (after 2 years of Y employment), free YMCA membership.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Must be able to work alone as well as with others; lift & carry objects over 50 lbs.; climb ladder; stoop, kneel, crouch; possess good vision; communicate effectively in English.
Educational Background: 
Requires High School diploma or equivalent
Skills/Experience: 
  • Necessary skills: Mechanical knowledge, plumbing, carpentry, electrical, facility cleaning processes, problem solving, budget management, project management, staff supervision, attention to detail.    
  • 10 years building maintenance and project management experience.  Pool operator certification or experience with indoor pool operation is preferred. 
  • Must have a valid driver's license and the ability to drive a pickup truck with a plow.          
Compensation/Benefits: 

Hourly: $18.00 - $20.00
