The Membership Associate is responsible for advancing the YMCA’s capability to serve the local community by welcoming individuals, families and corporations to the benefits of membership at the YMCA. The Membership Associate is responsible for supervising all Member Service Representatives. The Membership Associate is also responsible for carrying out services and functions related to member needs and satisfaction, accurately processing transactions and monitoring member/guest access to the Y. The Membership Associate has a major impact on the overall effectiveness with which the Riverbrook Regional YMCA accomplishes its goals and objectives in the community through:
- Presenting a positive and welcoming attitude to everyone who comes to the Y for services, thereby creating good public relations and fostering the Y’s role as a true community center.
- Providing clear and thorough information on the Y’s programs and services, thereby assisting the staff in effective program delivery to members.
- Processing information and transactions efficiently and accurately so that members have a positive experience when enrolling for Y programs.
- Offering assistance whenever possible to address members’ needs, solve problems or transmit important information to the appropriate staff person, thereby making the Y better operationally.
- Knowledge of all job segments of Membership Service.
- Conduct staff trainings.
- Conduct regular department staff meetings.
- Substitute as needed at the desks if other Member Service Representatives are not available.
- Responsible for hiring/onboarding/reviewing/scheduling all Member Service staff.
- Work closely with program staff to ensure program information is current.
- Work cooperatively with other Y departments to achieve results.
- Interact with members, either in person or on the phone, to ensure membership satisfaction.
- Assist with association marketing efforts to support membership and promotional campaigns.
- Communicate membership and program promotions to staff.
- Make sure front desk and lobby areas are neat and presentable.
- Assist with preparation of program brochures or other promotional items and make changes, corrections and revisions for the Front Desk
- Keep all Front Desk materials, schedules, forms and daily calendar current and accessible
- Assist the Membership Director with projects as needed. Be available as backup for payroll, the website and online facility schedules.
- Assist the CEO with Board Meeting preparation.
- Assist the Manager of IT and Member Finances with membership issues, as needed.

- Experience handling money accurately and honestly
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Daxko Operations and other computer software necessary to perform the duties of the position. Willingness to learn new software as needed.
- Flexible with work schedule, nights and weekends as needed
Salary: $37,000.00 - $41,000.00
