Under the guidance and direction of the Senior Child Development Director, the Program Director III supports the functions of all Day Camp programs and Sports programs. The Program Director III is responsible for coordinating all staffing, program management and registrations for the summer camp and youth sports programs at the branch.
- Responsible for the overall planning, promotion and day to day operations of Bear Glasgow’s Day Camp and Youth Sports programs. Oversees the coordination of special events and activities associated with these programs.

Develops, implements, and manages operating plans to promote program and/or membership growth for the YMCA. Executes strategies to ensure that members and/or program participants connect with one another and the YMCA.

Develops and manages budgets for all program areas.

Hires, trains, supervise and coaches staff and volunteers in assigned areas. Facilitates communication and provides leadership. Models relationship-building skills (including Listen First) in all interactions.

Assures compliance with state and local regulations. Ensures that program standards are met and safety procedures are followed.

Ensures high quality member-focused programs through innovative program development, evaluations and ongoing training of staff.

Maintains staff/child ratios a set by the YMCA and the American Camp Association (ACA).

Responsible for ACA inspections and ensuring regulations are consistently met. Recommends any necessary program changes that will more effectively and efficiently improve our program quality and safety.

Is involved and attends the YMCA Program Leadership Team meetings and all camp and sports related sub groups.

Maintains consistent, continuing, and accurate communication with Senior Child Development Director concerning program concerns, supplies, schedule changes, staffing, participant concerns and other pertinent information.

Keeps accurate records essential for control and evaluation of all programs.

Utilizing SEER statistical data and YDE KPI Plans together with personal experience, measures the degree to which existing programs are meeting the needs and interests of participants and the Branch, making appropriate recommendations and changes when necessary.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college preferred.

Is at least 25 years of age.

Four or more years of program management experience, preferably in a YMCA or other nonprofit agency. The incumbent must possess an extensive background in supervision of staff and discipline and education of children, in addition to good management skills in planning, organizing, staffing and directing programs.

Knowledge and background in managing large budgets, computer systems and registration processes for large member populations.

Ability to direct programs through supervision of volunteers and staff, development and monitoring of budgets, marketing and public relations, program development and fund-raising.

Prefer knowledge of and previous experience with, diverse populations. The incumbent must be able to demonstrate flexibility of leadership and the personality to deal with a variety of people.

Proven track record of developing authentic and deepened relationships with others. The position requires a high level of human relation skills, as well as, parental and child interactions.

Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with community organization.
