The Senior Marketing Director is responsible for leading the successful strategy, development and management of multi-channel program marketing including all aspects of internal and external acquisition, engagement and retention efforts. This position serves as a bridge between branch program leadership and marketing to effectively evolve, optimize and support the Y’s program innovation for transformational experiences.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Create, direct and execute a cohesive strategy and comprehensive calendar for program marketing, content creation and internal/external communication
  • Identify, manage, create and publish high quality content including print, email, video, story banks, earned media, website and social media
  • Manage, report, evaluate and support the achievement of branch program benchmarks, including revenue and participation goals
  • Translate internal and external consumer data, on-site program evaluations and staff feedback into actionable insights
  • Develop marketing tools, provide support, document processes, train and manage necessary staff to help increase community awareness and program revenues
  • Monitor internal/external threats and propose/execute actions to defend against
  • Drive/lead collaborative and forward-thinking relationships with branch leadership and internal departments to support the Association and its objectives
  • Stay up to date on the newest trends, tools and insights in marketing, serve as a resource and advocate across the organization to optimize plans based on these insights
  • Articulate, prioritize, lead and implement a future vision for program marketing that aligns consumer experience with strategic goals, improves processes and performance, engages staff in actively supporting marketing efforts
  • Manage external partners/vendors to ensure alignment with project expectations
  • Foster a collaborative team environment between marketing and Y branch teams
  • Contribute to and maintain a professional work environment by demonstrating integrity, promoting teamwork and fostering positive communication
  • Demonstrate four character values: caring, respect, honesty and responsibility.
  • Adhere to Association goals and strategies, and effectively communicate them to staff and volunteers.
  • Participate in Association-wide projects and events when needed.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree in integrated marketing, communication technology, new media, or relevant field of study.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Four or more years of successful experience in multi-channel marketing, project leadership, and results management with a deep understanding of the intersection of consumer experience, media, marketing and digital technology
  • An expert in identifying, implementing and working with communication automations, the latest marketing trends and technologies, bringing integrated multi-tiered marketing efforts to life and achieving goals
  • Proven ability to be an innovative, creative, proactive and self-directed team player who works in a fast-paced environment and meets deadlines
  • In-depth knowledge in effective use of social media platforms, earned advertising, analytics, tag management, ad management, a variety of CMS, Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office; Drupal 7 & 8 experience preferred
  • Excellent written, verbal and visual communication skills including ability to compose and curate content, design graphics, write and edit compelling stories, draft statements of work, develop RFPs, manage bids, place media, and supervise and coach others
  • Experience in marketing planning, strategy and workflows, business process design, behavioral marketing, and data mining and analysis

  • Ability to simultaneously manage multiple priorities/projects 
  • Able to travel to various sites throughout the Greater Wichita YMCA.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Visual, auditory, and verbal ability to communicate effectively with people and monitor property and activity.
  • High level of alertness, concentration, accuracy, and time-management.
  • Ability to adapt to working in changing conditions and environments.
  • Able to stand, walk or sit for prolonged periods; occasionally stoop/bend.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
  • It is anticipated that an average work week will consist of 50 hours to accomplish the assigned duties.
