Sports Programs & Assistant Camp Director

Under the direction of the Senior Program Director and the Director of Camp & Family Services, the Sports Programs & Assistant Camp Director is responsible for the administration and direction of the youth sports programs and supervision of all sports staff. Additionally, the Sports Programs & Assistant Camp Director will serve as the Assistant Camp Director for YMCA Camp Mahackeno during the summer. Beginning in September 2020, the Sports Programs & Assistant Camp Director will supervise outdoor center programs during the spring and fall seasons.  The Sports Programs & Assistant Camp Director will assure that all programs and facilities exceed the goals and objectives of the Westport Weston Family YMCA.  The Sports Programs & Assistant Camp Director must possess excellent organizational, communication, and supervisory skills.  

Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Supervisory experience in camp, sports, child care, or Youth Development programs.
  • Experience managing facilities, equipment, budget, and staff is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge in program development.

Required Certifications

  • First Aid and CPR/AED certifications required. If not currently held, these must be obtained within the first 45 days of employment.
  • YMCA Team Leader preferred.
