Under the direction of the Boroughs Family Branch Director, the Senior Program Director is responsible for the overall management of Childcare, Youth & Teen and Camp, Family Experience and providing quality leadership and guidance to YMCA Program Directors, staff and members. The Senior Program Director will evaluate and implement quality programs that meet the needs of the community.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Determine and oversee program procedures and workflow that ensure the upmost service is provided to members and volunteers.
- Implement and supervise all programs and collaborations ensuring the highest quality and adherence to YMCA goals and standards are met for youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.
- Supervise, coach and assess the effectiveness of direct reports (Program Directors) through the development of annual goals and objectives.
- Develop, monitor and achieve the program budgets. Accept responsibility for the control of expenditure and the production of income in line with the approved branch budget.
- Provide leadership and direction in the development of short and long-range plans for all Youth and Teen, Childcare, Child watch, Kidszone, Rock Wall, birthday parties and special events.
- Gather, interpret and prepare data for studies, reports and recommendations.
- Coordinate department activities with other departments and agencies.
- Develop new programs to meet the needs of the Boroughs Branch membership and the community.
- Oversee all branch Childcare programs and ensure compliance to EEC standards.
- Provide Leadership for Public Policy including Association representative on MA state advocacy days
- School Liaison for Public Schools and Kindergarten transition program for the State CFCE grant
- Supervise all CC/SACC/camp billing for both private and paying parents and voucher administration
- Make certain the Department of Public Health standards are constantly maintained.
- Oversee all branch youth/teen summer camp programs and ensure compliance to DPH standards.
- Ensure clear, concise and consistent information is communicated to members, volunteers and staff.
- Participate in the YMCA of the USA Leadership Competency Career Development Program and obtain Multi-Team/Branch Leader certification.
- Co-Chair the branch’s Annual Campaign and assist leadership in the successful completion of the campaign and other related special events and activities.
- Participate as requested in Association Service Center and branch committees, cabinets, task forces.
- Assume responsibility for the physical upkeep of the program spaces.
- Assist in any and all branch programs and activities at the request of the branch leadership.
- As a Branch Leader the position requires 24/7 availability to direct reports and branch director.
Educational Background:
Bachelor's Degree
Skills/Experience:
- At least 3 years of experience overseeing program departments. a strong background in camping and youth development is required. YMCA Muti-Team or Branch Leader Certification preferred.
- Must be knowledgeable and have experience in YMCA standards and program guidelines.
- A strong background in staff supervision and team building are required.
- The successful candidate must understand the relationships of the general public to the Association, of staff to volunteer and of staff to staff relations. must be able to delegate, and to supervise, direct and guide operations and programs of the branch for the accomplishment of the Associations long and short term goals.
Compensation/Benefits:
Salary: $48,000.00 - $52,000.00
