Under the direction of the Director of Property & Risk Management - Operations and in conjunction with the Branch Executive Director, , the Facilities Director will perform and oversee all maintenance and custodial operations of the Boroughs Branch YMCA. This position operates in accordance with the provisions and policies of the YMCA of Central Massachusetts.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Under the direction of the Branch Director, the Facilities Director will perform and oversee maintenance and custodial operations at the Boroughs Branch YMCA.
  • This position requires the ability to maintain, troubleshoot and/or repair HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, grounds keeping, pool maintenance and chemical control.
  • Must have the knowledge of all OSHA regulations and other industry safety guidelines, ability to ensure the highest standards of custodial/maintenance and preventive maintenance procedures.
  • In addition; the Facilities Director must possess strong communication and leadership skills for the execution of administrative and supervisory tasks in the hiring, training and overseeing of maintenance and custodial staff, and be responsible for budget development and securing competitive bids from outside contractors and purchasing.
  • This is an on call 24/7 position.
  • The Director must be available for all contingencies or ensure appropriate emergency coverage of the facility at all times.
  • Incumbent must have High School Diploma and related experience in mechanical repairs and custodial procedures or equivalent training.

Skills/Experience: 
  • This position requires the ability to maintain, troubleshoot and/or repair HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, grounds keeping, pool maintenance and chemical control.
  • Should be able to follow direction, work under minimal supervision, follow a timetable and complete assignments as prescribed by the Branch Director.
  • This position requires a working knowledge and practice of the highest safety standards in all areas of responsibility.
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $47,476.00
