Develops, organizes and implements high quality YMCA school age child care, Universal Pre-K (UPK), preschool education, and summer day camp programs.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Manages, directs and coordinates school age child care, UPK, preschool education, and day camp programs for assigned locations. Ensures high quality programs, establishes new program activities, and ensures program enrollment targets are met.
- Recruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules and directs program employees and volunteers. Reviews and evaluates staff performance. Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.
- Develops, manages and controls budgets related to the position. Exercises necessary controls to ensure operations are carried out and a balanced fiscal operation exists.
- 4. Ensures that YMCA program standards are met and safety procedures are followed. Ensures compliance with state and local regulations as they relate to program areas.
- Develops and maintains relationships with OCFS, school administration, parent groups, and other organizations and agencies related to assigned programs. Responds to all inquiries and complaints in a timely manner.
- Provides staff leadership for the annual campaign and committees as assigned.
- Ensures compliance with OCFS and Health Department regulations.
- Provides for upkeep of assigned program facilities and equipment.
- Maintains proper records and department files.
- Organizes special events related to the program area.
- Assists in the marketing and distribution of program information.
- Implements survey collection procedures. Evaluates program effectiveness and responds to customer feedback.
- Serves as a member of YMCA management and supports the overall objectives of the YMCA.
- 14.Carries out other tasks as assigned.
Educational Background:
Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, a related field, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Skills/Experience:
- Previous experience in a related position with supervisory responsibilities.
- Ability to direct assigned operations including supervision and development of staff and volunteers.
- Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Ability to use analytical, interpretative, and evaluative thought in making decisions and solving problems.
- Experience working with diverse populations.
- Competency using Microsoft Office software.
Compensation/Benefits:
Salary: $40,560.00
