This is an excellent opportunity for a tenured leader who has demonstrated competencies in staff and program development, effective communication, relationship building and project management.

Under the guidance of the Senior Program Director, the Advanced Director of Youth Development will provide hands-on leadership and supervision of the School Age Childcare Program and Summer Day Camp. This position manages the development and operations of these programs and is also responsible for budget management, ensuring compliance with all PA Department of Human Services (DHS) regulations and providing the best member experience through quality programming. Additionally, this position will support and supervise a large team of part-time staff.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Effectively communicates the mission, vision and values of the YMCA
  • Supports the development and oversight of departmental budgets
  • Ensures high quality programs through innovative program development, program evaluation and on-going staff training
  • Ensures the Y mission and character development values are incorporated into programs
  • Ensures overall growth of designated programs
  • Recruits, trains and manages direct reports and supports direct reports in recruitment, training and management of department staff
  • Understands all risk management procedures and policies and helps implement branch compliance
  • Communicates effectively and efficiently with all staff and participants
  • Plays an active role in our Annual Fundraising Campaign
  • Serves as evening/weekend Director on Duty on a rotating basis
Educational Background: 
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education or Human Services. 
Skills/Experience: 
  • Must be able to meet licensing requirements for PA Department of Human Services. 
  • Three or more years of leadership experience including supervising camp programs and childcare required. 
  • Superior relationship building skills, computer proficiency and excellent organizational skills are essential to succeed in this position. 
  • Must be available to work weekdays, weekends and evenings.
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $47,500.00 - $50,000.00
