Under the guidance of the Vice President of Mission Advancement, the Financial Development Associate provides support for all YMCA development initiatives, including annual and capital campaigns, grants, special events and planned giving.  The associate will assist with developing, implementing and maintaining fundraising processes, and help to plan and coordinate events.  The ideal candidate has experience working in development for a non-profit organization, and is familiar with the mission of the YMCA. 

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Support the financial development department with all administrative duties, including but not limited to creating materials and organizing events associated with fundraising initiatives.
  • Regularly gather data and create metric based reports detailing the annual impact of the YMCA of Greater Brandywine
  • Develop and lead the overall workflow for meeting the annual campaign and other contributed revenue goals, working directly with the Branch Executives and the Mission Advancement team to ensure timelines are met.
  • Plan and assist in implementing YMCA special events including golf outings, educational meetings, stewardship and recognition events.
  • Identify, cultivate and solicit gifts to support YMCA's fundraising efforts through annual campaign and other special events.  
  • Effectively communicate with our donors, volunteers, members and the community.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Educational Background: 
A Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent experience preferred.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Minimum of three years' professional experience related to community engagement and/or fundraising required. 
  • Must be flexible and be able to work through deadline-oriented projects. 
  • Excellent computer skills including extensive knowledge of social media and other marketing tactics. 
  • Ability to work both independently without close oversight, but also function as a team player who will take initiatives, and manage multiple tasks and projects concurrently. 
  • Ability to work occasional early morning, evening or weekend hours for events.
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $42,000.00 - $47,000.00
