We have an exciting leadership opportunity to grow family programming and increase member engagement as a Family Programs Director.

Manages the implementation, development and delivery of Family programs. Recruits, trains and supports assigned staff and volunteers. Additional responsibilities include hiring and training of staff; curriculum development; budget control; and adhering to all regulatory and Association standards. The Family Programs Director leads the Youth Development team in providing a safe environment and provides leadership in expanding Family programming.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Ensures programs and services meet community needs to include supervising existing program activities, establishing new program activities, and expanding the program within the community as needed. Assists in the marketing and distribution of program information.
  • Develops and grows Family programming while increasing Member engagement.
  • Models the importance of building connections among staff, members, program participants and volunteers.
  • Models effective listening skills when interacting with staff, members and volunteers. Ensures that staff have opportunities to develop their own listening skills.
  • Recruits and hires diverse staff and volunteer teams across multiple dimensions of diversity. Onboards and develops them for success.
  • Manages the Family programs, including developing and monitoring the program budget to meet fiscal objectives; compiling program statistic to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of and participation in program.
  • Assists with annual campaign activities.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience required
Skills/Experience: 
  • Two years of direct supervisory experience with child, youth or family programming preferred
  • Ability to direct programs through supervision of volunteers and staff required
  • Preferred knowledge of, and previous experience with, diverse populations
  • Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with community organizations
