Seeking an experienced operational leader for our dynamic and growing YMCA.

The Sr. Vice President/COO is responsible for the successful operation of the branches within the Association, including supervision of executives and the Director of Risk Management and the safety assurance, policy and procedure implementation, member experience, membership development and retention, program development and quality, budgeting and financial results. The COO will help create an operational and cultural environment where staff are engaged and benchmark against best practices, provide their best effort and focus on the right things to achieve the best outcomes for members and the community.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Lead Branch Executives to assure that sound operation principles are in practice. Accountable for the financial performances of these Branches.
  • Supervise the Director of Risk Management and lead the safety assurance
  • Oversee and Lead the Association Directors of Youth Programming & Childcare; and Association Director of Healthy Living.
  • Responsible for maintaining, revising, and implementing the Pursuit of Excellence program throughout the Association to guarantee faithfulness to YMCA purpose, high quality and maintenance of YMCA standards.
  • Facilitate and foster a team-based culture throughout the organization where everyone has responsibility and accountability for the success of the organization.
  • Lead the Diversity, Inclusion and Global efforts
  • Monitor and assure all safety and risk management policies and procedures are being followed.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree in related field such as business operations, human resources, human services. Master’s degree preferred.
Skills/Experience: 
  • 5-10 years of high-level management experience with a results-proven track record of exceeding goals and a bottom-line orientation; ability to consistently make good decisions through a combination of analysis, wisdom, experience, and judgment; high level of business acumen
  • Exhibit strong leadership skills; possess a passion for the work of the YMCA, ability to foster great relationships and able to maintain a culture of excellence
  • Exceptional capacity for managing and leading people; a team builder who has experience in scaling up organizations; ability to connect staff both on an individual level and in large groups with a capacity to ensure accountability
  • Understanding of the nature and purpose of the YMCA and understand the proper role of volunteers and staff.
  • Prior experience in management and development of volunteer involvement required
