The YMCA of Greater Brandywine currently has an exciting, full time, leadership opportunity as the Association Director of Healthy Living.

Under the direction of the Chief Operating Officer, and a member of the Association Leadership Team, the Director of Healthy Living is primarily responsible for leading efforts to achieve association-wide membership growth and retention through the pathway of Healthy Living initiatives, programs and partnerships.

The Director of Healthy Living will work closely with the branch Executive Directors, Membership Directors, Health and Wellness Directors and the Marketing department to develop association-wide integrated programs, services and member experience standards. The Director will ensure member on-boarding strategies along with sales and marketing plans meet the goals of the Strategic plan.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Support all branch membership directors to achieve branch and association net membership and engagement goals.
  • Implement membership strategies that support recruitment of new members and retention of existing members.
  • Foster a climate of innovation and solution-focused approach to increasing membership growth, retention and exceptional member experience.
  • Provide leadership to the Membership and Healthy Living Experience teams to ensure a unified brand experience.
  • Lead membership and healthy living planning and execution of new programs, which includes, but is not limited to: implementing association policies, procedures and best practices and staff training in the areas of member service, member involvement, healthy living programs and communication.
  • Obtain, analyze and disseminate data regarding membership trends and progress, interpret data to articulate the needs of association.
  • Works closely with grants administration team to secure funding and execute deliverables of the grants.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and IT to leverage technology by continuously creating a more robust, friendly and efficient online member experience.
  • Serve as a liaison, ambassador, and advocate for the YMCA's community integrated health initiatives, programs, committee and strategies.
  • Recruit, develop and supervise staff relevant to membership and healthy living objectives.
  • Perform other duties assigned by supervisor.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor's degree in Community Health, Health Sciences or related field
Skills/Experience: 
  • 5 years in a YMCA Senior Management role or related experience
  • Strong leadership, management and collaboration skills
  • Excellent communicator, with the ability to lead and influence across a matrixed organization
  • Strong time management and organization skills
  • Computer and mathematical competence and ability to perform statistical analyses and prepare reports
  • Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines and make sound independent judgement
  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people, and build relationships with staff, members and participants
  • CPR, AED and First Aid certification
  • Bilingual in Spanish a plus
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00
