The YMCA of Greater Brandywine Association Office is located in the Borough of West Chester, 30 miles west of Philadelphia.  The Association has eight branches throughout beautiful Chester County, PA.  The overall budget is 43M.  Annual contributed income is roughly $2.5M.  The YMCA of Greater Brandywine serves nearly 75,000 members at its facilities.  The YMCA of Greater Brandywine is looking for an experienced professional to lead the philanthropic efforts for the Association and participate in the Association's senior leadership team.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Under the direction of the President/CEO, the Vice President of Mission Advancement will provide leadership, vision, and direction to the Association, and lead staff and volunteers in philanthropic support of annual, capital and planned giving initiatives.  The position will advance the YMCA's mission through annual giving, grants, endowment bequests, major gifts, special events, EITC, corporate sponsorships, and capital campaigns as scheduled.  The Vice President assists the CEO in developing an actively engaged fundraising volunteer board of directors and positions the YMCA of Greater Brandywine as the "Charity of Choice" within the community.
Educational Background: 
Must have a Bachelor's degree with a Master's degree desirable. 
Skills/Experience: 
  • Actively maintained CFRE certification required.  The candidate will preferably have an Organizational Leader YMCA certification and requires 8+ years of applicable experience.  The candidate will directly supervise a staff of four team members, will work closely to influence Executives at multiple locations to meet fundraising goals and must posses exceptional relationship building skills.  YMCA experience strongly encouraged.  Experience with a capital campaign, Raisers Edge NXT, and grant writing is a plus.  Special events and other obligations may require working outside of normal business hours as required.
Compensation/Benefits: 

The YMCA of Greater Brandywine currently offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes a free Y membership, Medical and Dental insurance along with a 12% employer contribution to the retirement savings plan for eligible employees.  

Salary: $135,000.00
