We are seeking an energetic, organized leader to serve as our School Age Director. The School Age Director supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.

Areas of Responsibility:
- Manages, directs and coordinates the school age child care programs for assigned location(s); ensures high quality programs and establishes new program activities; expands program within the community in accordance with strategic and operating plans
- Assist the Day Camp Director to coordinator the Day Camp program
- Recruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules and directs personnel and volunteers as needed; reviews and evaluates staff performance; develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals
- Develops, manages and controls budgets related to the position; ensures program operates within budget and that program fees are collected; supports and budgets for healthy eating through coaching, mentoring, and monitoring menu quality
- Ensures that YMCA program standards and Wisconsin State Licensing requirements are met and safety procedures followed
- Provides for upkeep of assigned program facilities and equipment and ensures the physical environment supports healthy living
- Develops and maintains relationships with Wisconsin state child care licensing, school administration, parent groups and other organizations and agencies related to assigned programs; responds to all agency, parent and community inquiries and complaints in a timely manner
- Maintains proper records/department files
- Attends Day Camp and School Age Cabinet meetings
- Assists in the marketing and distribution of program information
- Compiles program statistics; monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of and participation in program
- Performs other duties as assigned
Educational Background:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Skills/Experience:
- At least 18 years of age
- 2 years experience in Child Care
- Preferred supervisory experience
- Education must comply with the DCF Wisconsin Licensing Rules for Group Child Care Centers
- Current CPR/AED certification preferred; required within 30 days of hire
- Must complete a Health Physical and TB test within 30 days of hire
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- The ability to lift 40 lbs
- The ability to interact with children at their level
- The ability to participate in all required physical activities with the children
