The Kettle Moraine YMCA is seeking a Director of Donor Development.

Under the direction of the Branch Director, the Director of Donor Development will provide leadership and management for the annual campaign, major gifts, staff campaign, board campaign, planned giving, and all other fund development projects. Additionally, this position has a key role in managing special events, local business sponsorships, donor record management, donor cultivation efforts, and donor recognition initiatives. They will build critical community relationships and develop partnerships to further carry out the mission of the YMCA.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Develops, directs and supervises safe and quality fundraising events and activities to meet the needs of the community and fulfill YMCA objectives.
  • Develops and maintains positive, collaborative relationships with community organizations.
  • Designs and implements annual development plan, including fundraising goals, objectives and strategies in collaboration with the Branch Director and the CEO.
  • Manages and monitors the donor department budget and meets or exceeds budget targets.
  • Models relationship-building skills in all interactions
  • Recruits, trains, develops, schedules and directs volunteers and personnel as needed.
  • Compiles donor statistics; monitors and evaluates participation and effectiveness of fundraising efforts and annual gifts; conducts regular analysis of progress.
  • Acts as an inspiring and engaging voice on behalf of the Kettle Moraine YMCA.
  • Manages database to effectively track and cultivate donor data and evaluate development opportunities and initiatives.
  • Collaborates with branch leadership to develop communication and campaign strategies to successfully market the annual campaign and solicit branch annual fund prospects.
  • Establishes systems for timely and appropriate acknowledgements of annual campaign gifts
  • Oversees prospective, current and past donor correspondence.
  • Works with all program directors to understand program focus and develop rapport with volunteer coaches and parents.
  • Leads all community special events held at the YMCA such as Halloween at the Y, Health Kids Day, etc.
  • Hosts annual donor events and related Heritage club and planned giving initiatives.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Three to five years of development-related experience, preferably including fundraising and special events.
  • Ability to interact effectively with external organizations, informal networks and individuals.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload to meet all deadlines.
  • Effective public speaking and ability to positively represent the organization in variety of settings.
  • Excellent oral, written, interpersonal, analytical and organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to manage confidential information appropriately.
  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
  • Valid Driver’s license required.
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $43,000.00 - $48,000.00
