Staying Sharp, Neuroscience Researcher

Plays an integral role in helping AARP achieve its goal of driving sustainable growth through the best-in-class use of research.  Focuses on working on creating scientifically valid uses of Staying Sharp through university research.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Orchestrates the strategy, plans, and execution of research studies within the neuroscience industry, focused on testing and validating hypothesis developed by Staying Sharp. 
  • Develops a network of relationships with key opinion leaders, researchers, and leading neuroscientists to understand industry trends in brain health.  Identifies and plans research studies to validate the efficacy of Staying Sharp.
  • Acts as the primary liaison/point-of-contact for university and hospital research organizations.
  • Contributes to high-impact decisions, protocol design and writing, and monitoring and interpreting data from internal and external studies.
  • Writes and/or reviews abstracts, posters, content for scientific meetings, conferences, website, and other events and presentations.
  • Coordinates and/or leads external research and impact studies to develop and test new ideas and concepts.
  • Participates in database setup, UAT, and review for data quality and queries.
  • Participates in research analysis -- compiling, formatting, reviewing, interpreting, and reporting.
  • Supports the development of program documents related to regulatory correspondence and regulatory submissions.
Educational Background: 
Completion of a Master’s of Science degree in Neuroscience, Biomedical Engineering, or a related scientific discipline (PhD preferred) and 10+ years working experience. 
Skills/Experience: 
  • Research and development and grant proposal experience required. 
  • Published papers and fundamental understanding of intellectual property (IP) law preferred.
