World Wildlife Fund (WWF), the world’s leading conservation organization, seeks a Specialist, Financial Reporting & In-house Fulfillment at our Washington, DC office
Performs intermediate duties including financial reconciliation, budgeting process, analysis and processing of invoices, vendor management, internal premium management and fulfillment, reclassification of expenses and other tasks as assigned. Database utilization is critical.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Financial accountability – Develops preliminary data and background information for budgeting preparation process. Provides information to analysts for forecasting the next fiscal year. Monitors program expenses and seek explanation for significant variations.
- Reporting – Using information compiled in databases, logs, records and lists, this position will compile and prepare information for presentations for internal staff. This will include evaluation and analysis of cost sheets supplied to the analysis team for planning of direct mail campaigns. An additional responsibility will require this position to work closely with the finance team to help with the quarterly joint cost review.
- Manage In-house Premium Fulfillment Channel – Manages orders, distribution, inventory, cost allocation and communication for our in-house fulfillment of premiums for internal usage. Will be responsible for updating/changing the current process to automate and streamline for distribution and recordkeeping. This may include customization to our Pawprint CRM system. Knowledge of databases and change management is crucial for this function.
- Records Management – Reviews, validates and collects data. Utilizes databases and other tools to collect and maintain all accounts payable financial records for the department. Identifies problems with the data and discusses issues with appropriate parties.
- Processes large volumes of invoices that pertain to membership marketing as well as Partners in Conservation and Gift Planning. Responsible for the majority of financial reclasses for the department. Prepares checks and/or requests wire transfers. Compiles any additional financial reports requested.
- Year End Close – Manages the year end close process. Sets department schedule, monitors schedule, enforces schedule and prepares end of year accruals and reclasses to submit to the accounting department.
Educational Background:
A Bachelor's degree and minimum of 4 years of experience required.
Skills/Experience:
- Demonstrated ability to utilize data bases to create and manage larger volumes of data. Knowledge of BBCRM a plus. Demonstrated proficiency using word processing and spreadsheet software (Excel) packages to create documents, reports and logs.
- Ability to define problems, research issues and develop solutions for any issues that may arise regarding financial transactions.
- The ability to concisely communicate concepts in writing and verbally. The ability to work well independently and effectively as a team member.
- Attention to detail and flexibility to successfully accommodate deadlines a must.
- Strong interpersonal skills a must as this position interfaces with a large diverse group of individuals.
