The Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) Community Partnerships and Investments Specialist Senior assists the Community Partnerships and Investments Director in leading and managing the Community Partnerships and Investments (CPI) team, and provides professional-level support to CPI leadership and to the philanthropy portfolio, working together to establish and maintain enduring partnerships with organizations and to build-out multi-year impact investments that align with WWP’s mission, strategic plan and investment strategy.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Assist in leading the Community Partnerships and Investments program and leadership to promote a long-lasting partnership and impact investment strategy.
- Serve as deputy to the CPI Director, providing leadership and setting an example to the CPI team. Promote a supportive working environment where employees are encouraged to proactively address issues and solve problems.
- Lead the CPI team to proactively research organizations to partner with and obtain funding from to fill in gaps in WWP programming.
- Support the application of capital and corporate philanthropy strategies and tools. Assist the CPI team to source, structure, underwrite, and negotiate social investments.
- Review, analyze, and evaluate proposals through social and mission due diligence. Provide investment recommendations to senior leadership.
- Support the GCR leadership to create multi-year partnerships across participating agencies that are both transformative and build the field to positively impact warrior wellness.
- Track proper investment administration, including outcome-based metrics, and prepare reports.
- Track, analyze, and report on emerging and vanguard efforts, trends, and opportunities in the corporate philanthropy and corporate responsibility sectors. Apply lessons learned to help achieve maximum impact and presence as the premier charitable investment leader in the wounded warrior community.
- Collaborate with WWP Legal team to design grant agreements.
- Collaborate with WWP Metrics team to develop measures and analyze data, and assess and evaluate the impact of partnerships on the military service organization (MSO) space and on veteran and family empowerment. Prepare reports to leadership.
- Collaborate with WWP Finance and Accounting team to assess the financial health of potential grantees and partners.
- In support of leadership, maintain regular, high-touch communication with external partners. Oversee the stewardship of individual relationships in public and private sector organizations to positively impact warrior wellness.
- Develop community support for WWP. Present WWP vision and values to the community, effectively communicating WWP’s history, mission, and vision, and the benefits of WWP programs and services, and inspire them to become involved with and support WWP.
- Establish working relationships with WWP teammates to advance GCR program mission, strategy and goals.
- Maintain broad, in-depth knowledge and understanding of military service organization (MSO) and veteran service organization (VSO) community needs, concerns, issues, trends, “best practices,” and innovations.

Educational Background:
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field of study.
Skills/Experience:
- Demonstrated understanding of investment and philanthropic giving experience, and how investments are leveraged and scaled.
- Demonstrated commitment to community service and philanthropy and understanding of successful grant acquisitions supporting non-profit organizations.
- Strong business acumen with demonstrated ability to monitor, compile, and analyze data to guide decision-making and capitalize on investment opportunities.
- Demonstrated understanding of program and project management, e.g., assessing outcomes and impact. Demonstrated ability to manage programs and projects from strategy through execution.

- Demonstrated proficiency in the use of customer relationship management (CRM) systems and Microsoft Office programs, e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Unequivocal commitment to the highest standards of personal and business ethics and conduct.

- Five years of experience in grant-making, strategy consulting, impact investing, financing, program metrics, and philanthropic capital and grants.
Preferences
- Master’s degree.

- Three years of staff management experience.
