The Senior Associate will work primarily with UNF’s global health team, and additionally the Shot@Life campaign, UNF advocacy team and other relevant teams to implement polio and broader immunization-related activities. The Senior Associate will report to the Senior Officer, Polio and Cross-Cutting Initiatives.
- Contribute strategic thinking to help expand UNF’s polio advocacy and communications portfolio with a focus on operationalizing UNF’s support for polio transition.
- Assist with implementation of UNF-led polio convenings, including project management and logistical support for meetings, workshops, high-level events, webinars and/or high-level delegations.
- Assist with research and/or proposal development to help expand UNF’s work on polio transition.
- Assist with launch of a new working group, including conducting research on polio transition in key focus countries, identification of critical issues, partners, targets, arranging working group calls and taking meeting minutes.
- Write content on polio, immunization, and broader global health issues for UNF documents and communications, including blogs, case studies, policy reports, fact sheets and briefs, newsletters.
- Manage a portfolio of global health grants, primarily related to immunization, including grant processing, tracking payments and reports.
- Provide project management support on high-priority efforts of the global health team, as needed.
- Provide other team support to global health team, as needed.
- Minimum of 3-5 years progressively responsible work experience public health or development.
- Exceptional communications, research, and professional writing skills.
- Familiarity with immunization and polio, specifically, highly desirable.
- Experience in advocacy, outreach, communications, or resource mobilization, especially on global public health and in a global context desirable.
- Previous experience in grant management, highly desirable.
- Demonstrated capacity to build rapport and develop trust with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders across various staff levels and functional expertise.
- A self-starter with the ability to balance multiple objectives and prioritize projects and tasks
- Well-balanced blend of analytical skills, strategic thinking, planning and project management.
- Ability to quickly iterate in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to travel internationally approximately twice per year.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle stress.
- Ability to meet regular attendance/tardiness policy.
