Executes on the strategy and direction set by management.  Executes the screening program process (planning, promoting, targeting, supporting the events, and reporting on the outcomes) for the Movies for Grownups (MFG) screening program.  Manages and executes other promotional activities for AARP the Magazine (ATM), be it in a collaborative role for large, high visibility events like the MFG Awards, or as the primary project manager for smaller activities like the Facebook page or ATM cover events.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Assists in the development of promotion plans and leads the event planning and execution plans of individual screening series within the MFG screening program.  Collaborates and coordinates with project stakeholders at the National office and in the state offices, as well as external vendors and partners throughout the project lifecycle.  Tracks, analyzes, and reports results to support AARP goals around member engagement and relevance.
  • Supports the planning, promotion, and execution of high-profile events, such as the MFG awards, TV for Grownups (TVFG) honors, and ATM promotional events.  Assists in planning event budgets, managing vendors, and tracking project costs.  Manages aspects of event logistics and execution.
  • Develops marketing and promotional copy for print, digital, and social media channels, as assigned.
  • Supports the execution and fulfillment of contests and sweepstakes.  Tracks, analyzes, and reports results.
  • Leads the MFG Facebook channel content and strategy, including development and testing of content, responding to posts, and developing a paid strategy.
  • Assists in promotion plan development or project management of other AARP content initiatives, as assigned.
Educational Background: 
Completion of a Bachelor’s degree
Skills/Experience: 
  • 3+ years of experience in promotions, marketing, event planning, or project management required.
  • Experience and knowledge of available print, online, video, and social media promotions strategies and tactics required
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex, long-term projects.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.
  • Proven critical thinking skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
