Responsible for supporting related projects and priorities at CCNA and for the Future of Nursing: Campaign for Action.  The Campaign is a national initiative aimed at implementing the recommendations in a landmark Institute of Medicine (IOM) Report: The Future of Nursing: Leading Change, Advancing Healthand helping everyone in America live a healthier life, supported by nurses as essential partners in providing care and promoting health-equity and well-being.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Supports the Director of Integration with day to day management and implementation of projects related to building a culture of health and well-being.
  • Openly and effectively communicates with key internal and external project stakeholders.  Serves as an active member of the planning and implementation teams for assigned projects.
  • Coordinates events, including webinars and telephonic meetings.
  • Maintains and tracks time-sensitive projects and events to ensure timely and accurate completion and compliance. 
  • Develops and provides project status updates with relevant team members at regularly scheduled intervals.  Seeks direction, implements decisions, provides active follow up and reports on outcomes for each project.
  • Prepares materials, reports, project plans with goals, objectives and intended outcomes to support specific project decision-making as requested.
  • Initiates, builds, and maintains internal and external relationships.
  • Works with external vendors and other key contacts, as necessary.
  • Demonstrates AARP leadership behaviors in all interactions.
  • Coordinates and schedules key meetings, including agenda development, drafting minutes, noting action items and following up to ensure completion
  • Executes administrative tasks as required (such as calendaring, organize meetings, process expense reimbursements and assist with travel arrangements as needed)
  • Develops and maintains relationships with functional areas throughout AARP.
  • Facilitates and participates in dialogue among colleagues on common issues and best practices.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Educational Background: 
Completion of a bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of job-related experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience related to the duties of the position
Skills/Experience: 
  • Ability to adhere to tight deadlines and work accurately in a complex environment
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills 
  • Strong project management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with all levels and across multiple departments
  • Advanced proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, Excel and electronic communication
