Project Manager, Operational Initiatives

Reporting to the Director, Operational Initiatives, this role is responsible for facilitating and leading Projects, Programs and Initiatives focused on supporting the cross-functional operational work of the Society. Provides strategic leadership for initiatives approved by the Operations Council and various Steering Committees. Understands the business operations of the relevant teams to identify integrated efficiencies and best support the enterprise wide goals.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Lead and manage operational, cross-functional, technical and non-technical initiatives with companion activities of Vendor Management, Change Management, and Risk Mitigation.  Manage project budgets and reporting as needed.  (50%)
  • Facilitate Steering Committee or working group activities with a focus on alignment to initiative and enterprise wide goals.  Identify and engage subject matter experts as needed for project success. (20%)
  • Help frame and articulate the desired outcomes and develop a plan, schedule and milestones to ensure the successful completion of the initiatives with successful transition to business operations. (20%)
  • Define and leverage project management best practices with regard to business processes, methods, implementation, metrics, and reporting to best align with the Society’s needs (10%)
Educational Background: 
Bachelor's degree required.
Skills/Experience: 
  • 7+ years of professional services consulting or project management experience in complex organizations 
  • Strategic thinker; exhibit strong curiosity to ask why
  • Excellent cross-functional collaboration; proven ability to build and maintain relationships
  • Ability to guide teams to both a consensus and the right solution
  • Superior interpersonal skills at all levels, and both written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to manage concurrent initiatives and work streams from planning to delivery utilizing a variety of project management tools and methodologies
