World Wildlife Fund (WWF), the world’s leading conservation organization, seeks a Program Officer, US Corporate Climate Engagement to join our dynamic, influential and growing team at our Washington, DC office. With guidance and support from the Deputy Director, Corporate Climate Engagement, the Program Officer supports WWF’s Climate Savers program, including partnership management, science-based targets development and implementation, policy engagement in the United States, and global program management and support
Areas of Responsibility:
- Partner Relationship Management: The Program Officer supports WWF’s Climate Savers corporate partnerships. This support includes recruitment, implementing partnership work plans, developing partner communications, maintaining program tools and resources, tracking partnership milestones and target progress, and leading special projects.
- Partnership Event Planning and Execution: The Program Officer supports the planning and execution of events for the US Climate & Renewable Energy team, and the WWF international climate and energy practice network, including the WWF Climate Savers Summit, partnership meetings, webinars, conferences, and speaking events.
- Corporate Climate Target Expertise: The Program Officer maintains awareness of leading corporate climate target setting and implementation strategies. This includes maintaining awareness of Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) criteria, policies, and projects, as well as researching external initiatives and activities related to energy management, renewable energy, climate policy, and value chain engagement.
- Strategy Implementation: The Program Officer supports the implementation of WWF US’s corporate climate engagement strategy, including company and sector research, and recruiting.
- Collaboration: The Program Officer works closely with other WWF US teams (to advance corporate partnerships, and with WWF’s international climate and business team.
- Supports interns: The Program Officer supports interns in the execution of assigned activities.
Educational Background:
Bachelor's degree required. An academic concentration in climate and environmental issues, energy systems, and/or corporate sustainability is preferred.
Skills/Experience:
- Must have at least 2 years of professional experience. A master’s degree may substitute for those 2 years of experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills required.
- Advanced capabilities in Excel and PowerPoint preferred.
- Able to effectively plan and prioritize responsibilities in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- A positive, problem-solving attitude is a plus.
