World Wildlife Fund (WWF), the world’s leading conservation organization, seeks a Private Sector Engagement Intern.

Assists the Private Sector Engagement (PSE) team in the development of opportunities to advance WWF’s conservation mission while working with companies in the travel and tourism industry to combat the illegal wildlife trade. 

Areas of Responsibility: 

Supports PSE team through research, coordination, communications, and administrative tasks that contribute to the successful management of existing corporate partnerships and the cultivation of new relationships in the travel and tourism industry. The role will include collaborating with multiple WWF teams, including but not limited to the Travel and Wildlife teams.

  • Supports the development and implementation of transformational business practice 
    engagements, focused on travel and tourism.
  • Coordinates and attends calls and meetings with WWF staff, stakeholders and corporate 
    partners, summarizing key points and action items in collaboration with Supervisor(s).
  • Participates in the development of key materials including briefing documents, PowerPoints, 
    talking points, partnership activity summaries and more, related to the development and retention 
    of new and existing corporate partners.
  • Assists with research, data entry and tracking progress in support of the advancement of 
    initiatives with corporate partners.
  • Updates the PSE team on industry best practices and current relevant partnerships in the 
    marketplace.
  • Provides additional strategic support for WWF to advance partnerships, as needed.
Educational Background: 
Graduate student
Skills/Experience: 

This work falls at the intersection of business, communications, conservation and sustainability, therefore experience in the above listed or a related field is required.

  • Interest in sustainability, tourism and/or wildlife conservation
  • Knowledge of the travel and tourism industry
  • Excellent writing and research skills
  • Sees the value in working with others and contributing toward larger goals and projects
  • Attention to detail
  • Organized and self-motivated
  • Minimum of 7 hours per week
Compensation/Benefits: 

Unpaid. For all unpaid internships, applicants must be enrolled in school and be able to obtain academic course credit from their university.
