The Production Manager is responsible for the day to day execution of managing the print and mail plans for their clients. The work varies from providing direct marketing and other print related activities as assigned.
Areas of Responsibility:
- The Production Manager is responsible for acquisition direct mail program, membership welcome kit, billing campaigns, variable digital print promotions and other campaigns as assigned.
- Manage all print and letter shop operations for all campaigns including the development of new packaging, fulfillment and postal solutions along with costing analysis for new tests
- Production projects include mailing packages, variable digital print campaigns and other printed materials. Mailing packages require the management of control packages being mailed at the same time as test packages. Orders printed materials and mailing services by creating specifications and schedule.
- Reviews artwork and supplies feedback to clients on most cost effective ways to produce campaigns while achieving objectives. Sets and maintains production schedules, manages the proofing and sign off process and delivery of final product. Ensures quality control standards are met for printing, personalization, lettershop, postal sortation
- Manages the daily production operations to include the negotiation and maintenance of production schedules; book makeup; print instructions; advertiser requests; demographic programming; and fulfillment requirements. Ensure effective liaison between editorial, sales management, and contract vendors to ensure the efficient and effective print solutions.
- Advises clients on optimal ways to leverage production technology with client objectives to effectively communicate with members and prospects.
- Monitor processes/rules to and make recommendations improve efficiency of production process.
- Reviews invoices; responsible for production cost tracking and roll out cost projecting.
Educational Background:
Bachelor of Arts plus a minimum of 5 years industry related experience.
Skills/Experience:
- Knowledge and experience in direct mail; print and print related and/or lettershop services
- Strong computer skills with Microsoft office applications required.
- Strong organizational and customer service skills with the ability to manage large volumes of inquiries
- Proven communication skills and ability to build relationships
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- Ability to problem-solve, reliability, attention to detail, and follow-up essential.
- Knowledge of USPS requirements for all mail classes
- Strong attention to detail and high degree of accuracy in work product
- Effectively track, analyze, and manage the procurement process
- Ability to manage multiple projects and utilize resources to execute tasks within a deadline oriented environment
