AARP’s Washington, DC office is seeking Principal Software Engineers.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Working as a contributing member of the development team.
  • Enhance, fix bugs, and increase performance of the existing codebase.
  • Facilitating design/architecture discussions.
  • Designing high quality code that’s highly scalable and extensible.
  • Estimating, tasking and prototyping of user stories.
  • Contributing clear and maintainable code to a shared codebase. 
  • Working in a cross-functional team on features, design and implementation.
  • Investigating, learning and applying new technologies/processes.
  • Clarifying requirements with team and client representatives.
  • Consult with management and clients on project status, scope, design, and outstanding issues.
  • Developing and presenting architectural roadmaps.
Educational Background: 
Qualified applicants must have a degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field, plus related professional experience as a Software Engineer or related occupation.
