This role combines creativity, technical proficiency, research and creative flair to help the UN Foundation’s talented communications team create engaging, cutting-edge video and storytelling across platforms. The product of this person's efforts will be dynamic and persuasive videos that entertain, inform and engage audiences.
A strong visual storytelling ability is essential, with proficiency in all aspects of contemporary video production.
This person will work primarily as part of the core communications team but will also help colleagues across the Foundation as needed to brainstorm, advise and collaborate on creative projects.
- Exceptional visual storytelling skills, whether telling human stories or translating complicated, information into creative videos across platforms.
- Ability to work independently and with colleagues from originating and pitching a concept, to driving execution and collaborating across teams to deliver projects on time and on budget.
- Proficient, reliable and self-sufficient in all aspects of video production, both in a controlled setting and in the field, including storyboarding, scripting, content sourcing, lighting video shoots, filming, and editing.
- Basic motion graphics experience and proficiency required.
- Ability to advise on video best practices and help build the Foundation’s overall video strategy.
- Demonstrated interest and experience in international issues and their relationship with the work of the UN and/or UN Foundation.
- Design skills are a big plus.
- Experience developing and maintaining a visual asset library on an ongoing basis.
- 5-7 years’ experience at increasing skill level as a visual storyteller.
- Demonstrated strong portfolio of previous related work (please include links to your website/ portfolio of videos within your resume or application).
- Excellent visual, oral and written communications skills.
- Strong technical and design skills, including proficiency in relevant tools such as: Adobe Creative Suite with a focus on Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Illustrator and Photoshop and the ability and desire to continually improve.
- An eye for detail and goal of excellence.
- Ability to work as part of a team or alone, reliably meeting deadlines and delivering high-quality products.
- Ability to manage a project from start to finish, often juggling multiple, shifting priorities.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle stress.
- Ability to meet regular attendance/tardiness policy.
