Our exceptional association is looking for a Membership Director to play a key role in supporting the mission of the YMCA.

The Membership Director helps build our capacity to serve the community by welcoming individuals, families and groups to become new Y members.  Our ideal candidate will lead the team to engage new members and provide the opportunity for all experience our programs and services.

Areas of Responsibility: 

The Membership Director:

  • Provides outstanding customer service to all members, guests, staff & the community
  • Inspires the Membership team to promote Y memberships and services
  • Identifies and builds relationships with prospective members in the local community
  • Engages new members in their opportunity to support the YMCA’s impactful programs and services, as a donor or volunteer, to strengthen the local community
  • Supports the daily operation of the Member Service team and key branch initiatives
  • Creates a supportive, friendly, and efficient team and environment
  • Develops the skills of membership department team members, positioning each one for their next advancement opportunity within the YMCA movement
  • Leads Membership Campaigns
  • Supports the Manager on Duty schedule as requested
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study is required. 
Skills/Experience: 
  • A minimum of five years of relevant membership experience is required (prospect development & management, enrolling, engaging and supporting service delivery to members)
  • History of achieving monthly membership goals through implementing effective internal and external marketing plans
  • Demonstrates initiative, enthusiasm, sound business acumen & a collaborative spirit in working with team members.
  • Minimum of three years of staff supervision, leadership and customer service experience is required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Strong relationship-building skills
  • Knowledge of financial/budget management
  • Excellent customer service skills and experience
  • Ability to multi-task and solve problems
Compensation/Benefits: 

We offer a competitive compensation package of $50,000 to $60,000 plus a monthly incentive opportunity of up to $1,500 per month.
