National Public Radio (NPR) is seeking an organized and energetic Manager of Strategic Initiatives and Enterprise PMO. The position reports to the Director of Business Optimization and Enterprise PMO, and assists with the administration of NPR’s Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO).
Areas of Responsibility:
- Be an advocate for the discipline of Project Management at NPR.
- Manage and/or improve EPMO processes, tools and systems (including the project tracking database, project greenlighting process, Program Manager collaboration sessions, project milestone review process)
- Support Project Managers and Scrum Masters through business case development; risk and issues management; project consulting; and professional development.
- Collect project-portfolio data, conduct analysis, and create reports to aid executive decision making.
- Lead special projects including but not limited to research, modeling, strategic assessments, and dashboard development and management.
Educational Background:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree
Skills/Experience:
- Excellent relationship building skills
- Superior computer skills; strong and thorough knowledge of Excel (formulas and pivot tables)
- Previous experience (5+ years) in a project coordination, project management, or a related role
- Familiarity with the Agile methodology and the Project Management Body of Knowledge
- Experience using a project tracking software package
- Able to work effectively under pressure
- Flexible and able to multitask
- Able to produce quality work with strict deadlines
