Ensures client problem solving and delivery that yields superior business results, as well as data product and analytic solution innovation, including data processing/mining, customer analysis and insight, predictive models, machine learning solutions, test design and analysis, multi-channel marketing measurement and optimization, online and offline integrated data products, and next-generation packaged analytics services.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Works on highly complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of multiple factors.  Exercises good judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
  • Ensures that deliverables support clients and the AARP mission on time and on budget.
  • Architects and delivers state-of-the-art and sophisticated data science solutions to drive superior results and client satisfaction.
  • Helps to innovate advanced big data analytics/machine learning/artificial intelligence (A.I.) capabilities for ASI.
  • Evaluates emerging advanced/big data analytics tools to evolve ASI analytics’ ecosystem.
  • Helps to expand upon AARP’s data ecosystem and drives development of new models, segmentation schemes, and derived online/offline elements to support the data product suite tailored for the 50+ audience.
  • Helps enhance data science capabilities by packaging and standardizing analytics solutions.
  • Presents in-depth results and recommendations to clients and stakeholders.
  • Provides data product and analytics solution documentation and training material development.
Educational Background: 
Completion of a Master’s degree or Ph.D. in a quantitative discipline, e.g., Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, etc.,
Skills/Experience: 
  • 8+ years of experience in an advanced analytics or customer analytics field, with 3+ years of experience in an advanced analytics, modeling, or data science role from marketing analytics or customer analytics fields.                 
  • Critical thinking and problem solving -- understands the business problem or decision being made and is able to “model” or “abstract” what is critical to solve the problem.
  • Extensive coding skills in open source (Python, R) and packaged software (SAS), with emphasis on open source.
  • Expertise with large volumes of disparate data, structured and unstructured, such as DFA, Site Click Stream, Social Media, Call Center Scripts, etc.
  • Proficiency in machine learning (xgboost, random forest, etc.) and artificial intelligence (neural net, NLP, image, pattern recognition).
  • Experience with AWS (Kinesis, SageMaker etc.).
  • Experience in operational research, advanced machine learning methods, text mining, and media mix/attribution modeling.
  • Experience working with databases, manipulating, navigating, and harvesting large datasets, including blending online and offline data or leveraging CDP’s (Customer Data Platforms).
  • Experience in predictive modeling (e.g., logistic regression, continuous regression, decision tree, and time-series model, etc.).
  • Experience in multi-channel marketing campaigns, measurement, reporting, test design, and analyses.
  • Is able to present sophisticated analytics methods and results to business audience.
  • Demonstrated success and effectiveness working in a time-critical and fast-paced environment.
  • Must be a self-starter and fast learner with the ability to take on new work assignments with little supervision.
  • Key personal traits include smart, curious, sense of urgency, committed to vision, passionate, achiever, and fun/pleasant.
  • Client-facing experience.
  • Experience with digital campaign/analytics tool and service (e.g., Adobe Test and Target, Adobe Site Catalyst, Google Analytics, Ad Networks, DMPs, DSPs, CMS, Tag Management, RTB APIs, etc.).
